Like almost everyone else here, I bought this gun after seeing "A Christmas Story" and decided he had to have one as "Ralphie" to my collection. Even if I shoot, sometimes, a spring and the typical Loaded Gun BB in that sense, its more of a display of a firearm in my opinion. If you want one of these and the power of this design only for "plinking" and what not, you can buy one at least you have all the "Red Ryder" signs and extras included. This is a beautiful replica of the original gun was available in the 50s. However, keep in mind that this weapon is by no means an original, and certainly not as good of a copy of what you see get Ralphie in the movie. I read that his was a custom made one that has little to this provision. (Ralph has a degree much heavier, is fed from the end of the barrel, and has a gold band and cane to ensure energy supply. This weapon has none of these so as not available in any place I've found). But I still recommend this gun as an addition to nostalgia for the collector, or simply A Christmas Carol fans everywhere.
